Dr. Mohammad Asrar Ghani
Current Position: Mr. Ghani has been working as Assistant Country Manager for Spectre Group International (SGI) in Kabul, Afghanistan since August 2008. He was first hired as project director with SGI. Prior to joining SGI, he was working as Operation Manager for PRO-telligent LLC from January 2008 to July 2008.
Mr. Ghani is also the project director for Afghanistan National Drug Abuse survey & Child Drug Abuse Survey funded by INL, State Department of United States of America. He & His team has surveyed 100s of households and collected 1000s of hair, urine and saliva samples in last 3 years!
Prior History
Mr. Ghani worked for Hill&Knowlton as Staff Director and Communication Capacity Building Trainer.
He leaded Communication (Media) Staff training within three Afghan Ministries, Interior, Agriculture and Irrigation and Rural Rehabilitation and Development. And also assisted H&K in developing new business and project opportunities as well as co-ordinating the strategic communications, provincial liaison functions in Kabul. Mr. Ghani joint Hill & Knowlton as Media Advisor and Capacity Building Training in May 2006 and promoted as Staff Director with more responsibilities in addition to his previous role in March 2007.
Prior to joining H&K in 2006, he was serving Communication Directorate of MOI in two different posts since Oct. 2004 to April 2006. First, Mr. Ghani was appointed as Media Advisor and Press Officer to Deputy Interior Minister for Counter Narcotics in Oct. 2004. In November 2005 Mr. Ghani promoted as Deputy Director for Strategy of Communication Department of MOI.
Other Information
Mr. Ghani is also leading video production Company, LMP (Latif Malekzai Production), equipped by full video equipment and staff since 2003 in Afghanistan.
Mr. Ghani is working as Free lance Journalist, field producer and reporter for Agence France Presse TV (AFPTV), VJ Movement from Netherlands, and other media outlets, producing short documentaries, feature stories and providing news coverage since March 2008. He has also worked as Country Team Leader and field producer for HDNet News and Documentary, US TV Channel from early 2005 to end of 2007 and worked for FOX News as fixer and Interpreter from Dec. 2001 to end of 2003. Mr. Ghani has also served as English Language teacher for five years from 1997 to 2001 in ASJAELC Kabul.
Mr. Ghani was born on 24-12-1979 in Afghanistan, he is doctor of medicine (MD), graduated from Kabul Medical University in 2008.
